What do Podiatrists actually do?

Podiatrists’ (sometimes referred to as Chiropodists’) specialise in the treatment, diagnosis and prevention of pain, injury, pathology and disease related to the foot, ankle and lower limb. We use many methods of treatment including but not limited to 3D foot scanning, manual therapy and manipulation, dry needling (medical acupuncture), surgery along with education and rehabilitation.

I am very privileged to work with a team of dedicated and knowledgeable Podiatrists’ and between us we can treat any problem that we are presented with.  We specialise in Paediatrics (tiny feet), biomechanics and sports injuries along with routine care and maintenance of nails, hard skin and verrucae.

Here are just some of conditions that we see every day:

  • Corns
  • Callous
  • Verrucae
  • Ingrown Toe Nails
  • Fungal Nail Infection
  • Athletes Foot
  • Bunions/Bunionettes
  • Hyperhidrosis
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Heel Pain
  • Biomechanical Issues
  • Sports Injuries

Don’t wait until a niggle becomes a bigger problem – now is a good time of year to book in for an MOT and Cancer screen as we move away from sandals and start hiding our feet away in heavy, closed-in shoes.

Get in touch today to book in for:

  • Routine Podiatry
  • Paediatric Foot Check (Child Examination)
  • Biomechanical Assessment
  • 3D Footscan
  • Prescription Orthotics
  • Lower-limb Acupuncture (Dry Needling)
  • Advice on Footwear
  • General Footcare advice

If you want to ask questions or need advice on the type of appointment you need, please do get in touch.  You only get one pair of feet, so look after them and they will look after you!
