Ayurvedic massage

Ayurvedic massage uses heated organic oil blends which have been infused with Ayurvedic herbs. This potent combination promotes relaxation and detoxification. The oils are chosen to balance a person’s dominant dosha. At the right temperature, these oils enter the body through the skin and pores, bind to the ama (toxins), and are released to detoxify the body.

What are its benefits?

Ayurvedic massage uses heated organic oil blends which have been infused with Ayurvedic herbs. This potent combination promotes relaxation and detoxification. The oils are chosen to balance a person’s dominant dosha (in Ayurvedic medicine it is believed that each person has a dominant type or constitution that is as unique as his fingerprint). Establishing which is your dominant Dosha helps to shape the treatment and advice given within a treatment. At the right temperature, these oils enter the body through the skin and pores, bind to the ama (toxins), and are released to detoxify the body.

Ayurvedic massage combines the 5,000-year-old Indian principles of Ayurveda, designed to create balance among the mind, body, and spirit, and help the body heal itself.

Marma Abhyanga massage works by accessing vital points of energy in our bodies, known as marma points. Similar to the acupuncture points used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) marma points are sensitive conduits for Prana, or Chi. However, the energetic channels that marma points access can become blocked due to emotional turmoil or through unhealthy lifestyle choices. When marma points are activated using moderate to light therapeutic pressure, energetic blockages are released and Prana may flow without obstruction. Marma bodywork focuses on the root cause of pain and imbalance and initiates healing of the whole being. It promotes circulation, boosts immune system function, and creates deep relaxation in the mind and body.

Working on the face, neck and head, Mukhabyanga is a traditional Ayurvedic procedure for a natural facelift. Firm pressure lifts facial muscles leaving a youthful glow while massage with warmed oil to Marma (vital) points increases energy flow and is also beneficial for problem lines.
