Ear Candling

Ear Candling is a technique used to remove ear wax. The treatment is far more comfortable than conventional ear cleaning where water is forced into the ear.

The practice of ear candling is an ancient art used in many countries such as Mexico, China, Czechoslovakia, and Italy.

Ear candles, also called ear cones are long, hollow tubes made of wrapped muslin. Their primary use is for ear wax removal, helping unblocked ears and lack of hearing (due to ear wax build up).

Other benefits include relief from sinus pain (sinusitis) and ear ache.

Before your treatment
It is recommended that for at least 3 to4 days prior to your treatment, you put in oil in your ears to soften and loosen the ear wax. This will result in a more successful ear candle treatment.

What will happen during a treatment?
The practitioner will check the health of your external ear and ear drum. You will then lie down on your side on a comfortable couch, and the small end of the candle will be placed into the outer edge of you ear, creating an airtight seal. The other end of the candle will be set alight. As the candle burns, it will create a vacuum, pulling the ear wax into the bottom of the candle.

Many clients report this being a pleasant sensation and find the treatment very relaxing.
